Elite ACCESS – News Trading Rule

Trading around major economic news events carries increased risk due to volatility, slippage, and rapid price movements.

For Elite ACCESS accounts, news trading restrictions apply only to funded accounts.

Where the Rule Applies

Stage

News Restriction

Evaluation

No restrictions

Funded

2-minute restricted window

  • During the evaluation phase, news trading is fully allowed

  • Once funded, the news rule becomes active

Funded News Restriction Window

On funded accounts, you may not execute trades:

  • 2 minutes before a high-impact news event

  • 2 minutes after a high-impact news event

Total restricted window: 4 minutes

What Counts as Trade Execution

The following actions are not allowed during the restricted window:

  • Opening a trade

  • Closing a trade

  • Opening pending orders

  • Placing stop or limit orders

  • Modifying a stop loss

  • Modifying a take profit

Any of the above during the restricted window is considered a rule violation.

Holding Trades During News

You may hold positions during news only if:

  • The trade was opened before the 2-minute pre-news window

However:

  • If a trade is closed during the restricted window, it is a violation

  • If SL or TP is modified during the window, it is a violation

  • If a trade is closed by any means (manual or automatic) during the window, it is a violation

What Happens If the Rule Is Violated

If a violation occurs:

  • Profits from the violating trade may be removed

  • The payout request may be denied

  • The account may be flagged for review

Repeated or abusive violations may lead to further action.

Violations do not automatically result in a hard breach unless abuse is detected.

What News Events Are Restricted

Only high-impact economic events are restricted.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • FOMC announcements

  • Interest rate decisions

  • Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP)

  • CPI releases

  • Major central bank statements

If an event is marked as high impact (red) on the official economic calendar used by Top One Futures, it falls under this rule.

Low and medium impact events are not restricted.

Tracking News Events

You can monitor high-impact events using:

  • Rebate King FX Economic Calendar

  • FXStreet Economic Calendar
