Elite Daily – Daily Loss Limit (sim funded only)

Updated over a week ago

Elite Daily – Daily Loss Limit (sim funded only)

The daily drawdown is set between 1.25% – 2.0% of your account balance, depending on the account size. This helps manage risk and ensures responsible trading.

Here’s how it looks for each Elite Daily funded account:

Elite Daily – Sim Funded Accounts

$25,000 Account: $500 (2.00%)
$50,000 Account: $1,000 (2.00%)
$100,000 Account: $1,250 (1.25%)

How Is It Calculated?

The Daily Loss Limit is a dynamic value calculated based on your previous day’s closing balance.

Let’s use an example to illustrate:

Rule: The daily loss allowed is $500 (for a $25K account).

Previous Day’s Close:
Let’s say you ended the previous day with a balance of $26,000.

To find your breach level for the current day, you subtract the allowed loss from that balance:

$26,000 (Previous Close) – $500 (Daily Loss) = $25,500

This means that if your account’s equity drops to $25,500 at any point during the current trading day, the system will automatically execute market orders to liquidate all open positions.

⚠️ Important Disclaimer

The Daily Loss Limit (DLL) is a risk management tool, not a stop loss.

It should never be relied on to close your trades at a specific loss amount.

Due to market volatility, slippage, and execution speed:

  • The DLL may execute late

  • It may execute early

  • It may fill at a different price than expected

  • It may not trigger exactly at the set value

If you want to control your risk properly, you must place hard stop loss orders directly on your trades. Relying solely on the DLL can result in larger losses than intended.

Top One Futures is not responsible for any losses that exceed the daily drawdown limit. Any loss beyond your allowed threshold remains the trader’s responsibility.

What Happens If You Hit the Daily Drawdown?

Soft Breach:
Trading is paused for the remainder of the trading day.

Resume Trading:
You may continue trading the next trading day, provided your account has not violated the Max Trailing Drawdown.

Key Notes

  • DLL resets daily based on the previous day’s closing balance

  • Both realized and unrealized losses count

  • DLL applies only to sim funded Elite Daily accounts

  • DLL is separate from the End of Day Trailing Drawdown
