At Top One Futures, it is essential to understand the trading hours and the automatic close-out policy to trade responsibly and within platform rules. These rules apply to all account types and instruments, including cryptocurrencies, ensuring uniform compliance across the platform.
When can I trade futures?
You can place trades between 6:00 PM EST and 4:10 PM EST the next day, Monday through Friday. Weekend trading is strictly prohibited, and all markets remain closed during this period. There is a daily 1-hour break from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST, during which trading is paused. After the break, the next session opens.
Session | Opens | Closes |
Monday session | 6:00 PM EST on Sunday | 4:10 PM EST on Monday |
Tuesday session | 6:00 PM EST on Monday | 4:10 PM EST on Tuesday (and so on through the week) |
Final session of the week | 6:00 PM EST on Thursday | 4:00 PM EST on Friday |
Weekend | Markets closed | Markets reopen Sunday at 6:00 PM EST |
Are trades automatically closed at 4:10 PM EST?
Yes. All open trades are automatically closed by 4:10 PM EST every trading day. This is part of Top One Futures' strict risk management rules. If a trader does not manually close their positions before 4:10 PM EST, the system will forcibly liquidate all open positions at that time.
Can I keep trading after 4:10 PM EST?
No. From 4:10 PM to 6:00 PM EST, trading is paused. You can resume trading when the next session opens at 6:00 PM EST.
Why does this rule exist?
By enforcing the automatic close-out of trades at 4:10 PM EST, Top One Futures helps traders avoid overnight risk and maintain discipline. This rule supports safe, intraday trading practices and protects both the trader and the firm from unexpected market volatility.
