Minimum Trade Time Rule Explained

This article will go over our 10-second Minimum Trade time rule

What Is the Minimum Trade Time Rule?

Trades must remain open for a minimum of 10 seconds across all account types, including Elite Evaluation, Elite Sim Funded, and Instant Funded Accounts.

We understand traders may accidentally close a trade early, or may need to exit a trade sooner than 10 seconds. This rule is in place to promote strategic trading and prevent ultra-high-frequency scalping techniques that do not align with our trading model.

If our risk team sees that ultra-high-frequency trades are excessive, our risk team reserves the right to remove profits based on trades closed in under 10 seconds.

How Does This Rule Work?

  • Every trade you open must remain active for at least 10 seconds before closing.

  • If a trade is closed before the 10-second mark, it may not count toward progress in an evaluation account or could result in a rule violation for sim funded traders.

  • This rule applies to all trading instruments and account sizes at Top One Futures.
